my man

i put in a post below of some things that i have learned and things i am learning in the past 10 years of ministry as a pastor's wife because as Shane and I celebrate 10 years of marrige we also celebrate 10 years of ministry soo thanks for indulging me...Just as i posted on what i have learned in ministry from MY point of view here are a few things i have learned and still learning in the 10 years of marriage :)...

* to treat my husband like i want him to treat me...basically respect respect respect him...even if i don't think he deserves it that day :) because a man's need for respect is the same as our need for feeling loved as a woman. I love to respect my shane it brings me great joy but at the beginning NOT so cool :) LOL

* Shut up....Listen to him and not always be the one talking but rather be slow to speak just as the bible tells us to do something that works in any relationship....This is a hard one for me as a woman :) LOL

* Open up to his affection... I used to push his hugs and kisses and affection away, but that makes any man feel unloved and undesired accepting the hugs and affection toward me made a huge deal for the both of us..Also works with intamacy...

* Take care of myself...Sounds selfish in a relationship, but it is HUGE to a man for their lady to look nice for them...it shows i care about him as well...this one is inside and out...when we first got married 10 years ago i wasn't confident in the way i looked at all or even in myself...but i began a journey to love myself and who God made me and I am telling you the more you love and take care of you the more your man will notice and it will make him feel loved...sounds silly but it is soo true...

* Understand that my man is wired differently then me and I am still learning that wiring :), but it helps me not to judge him or get as frustrated with him as i used to....
